XSCACE developed PsySculpt — the DSP tuning at the core of every XSCACE speaker — using the Analog Devices ADAU1701. The Xylem is the same chip, without the locked curve. Every parameter accessible. Every signal processing decision yours.
The Xylem is a SigmaStudio-programmable DSP amplifier series, available in 2, 3, and 4-channel configurations. It is designed for integrators who know what they want from a signal chain and need a tool that does not work against them.
The Problem With Fixed DSP in Architectural Audio
Fixed DSP — where the manufacturer determines the EQ curve and the integrator works within it — is a reasonable solution for simple installations in acoustically neutral rooms. Most luxury residential projects are not that. Hard surfaces, irregular geometries, constrained speaker placement, multi-speaker arrays with timing discrepancies: these are conditions that a manufacturer-set curve cannot address without compromise.
Programmable DSP addresses the room, not an average of all rooms. The Xylem’s ADAU1701 is fully exposed to the integrator. Every filter, every routing decision, every protection threshold is set by the person who has walked the space and heard what it needs.
Full ADAU1701 Access via SigmaStudio
Via SigmaStudio — Analog Devices’ graphical signal flow programming environment — the integrator has direct access to:
- Parametric EQ: up to 28 biquad filters per channel
- Crossover filters: Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel — any order, any crossover frequency
- Channel routing matrix: any input to any output combination
- Channel delay: sample-accurate alignment for time-coherent multi-speaker arrays
- Dynamics: per-channel limiter and compressor with programmable thresholds for speaker protection
- Preset storage: up to 8 programs, recallable via IP command or hardware GPIO
SigmaStudio requires no code. The signal flow is a graphical canvas — DSP blocks dragged, connected, and compiled to the unit over USB. Integrators who have used it on other platforms will be productive immediately.
Three Models
The Xylem series launches simultaneously in three configurations:
- Xylem 2 — 2-channel Class D, for stereo zones or bi-amplified single-speaker systems
- Xylem 3 — 3-channel Class D, designed for LCR configurations in home cinema and immersive audio
- Xylem 4 — 4-channel Class D, for multi-zone single-unit deployments or 4-speaker distributed arrays
All three models share the same ADAU1701 DSP core, champagne aluminium chassis, and SigmaStudio programming interface. An integrator who configures a Xylem 2 on one project does not need to learn a new environment for a Xylem 4 on the next.
The XSCACE Preset Library
At launch, XSCACE will distribute a companion SigmaStudio preset library — calibrated tuning profiles for every XSCACE passive speaker in the current range: Bonsai, Cane, Camphor, Juniper, Ghost, Cedar, and the full Acacia subwoofer range. Each profile is optimised to the specific driver and enclosure geometry of that speaker.
Presets are delivered as fully editable SigmaStudio project files — not locked binaries. The presets are a starting point, not a ceiling. Site-specific adjustment, room correction, and crossover refinement are expected; the files are structured to make that work efficient rather than laborious.
Who the Xylem Is For
The Xylem is not the right tool for every installation. It is the right tool when:
- The room has acoustic conditions requiring site-specific EQ — hard surfaces, low ceilings, irregular geometry
- The system includes subwoofers requiring precise crossover management and sub-satellite integration
- Multiple speakers need sample-accurate time-alignment
- The brief is hospitality or commercial, where a single SigmaStudio program is deployed identically across many identical rooms
- The integrator specifies at a level where manufacturer-defined tuning is a limitation, not a convenience
Timeline and Pre-Orders
The Xylem series is in final production validation. All three models — Xylem 2, Xylem 3, and Xylem 4 — launch simultaneously. Public availability is Q3 2026.
Distributor pre-orders are open now. Integrators who commit ahead of launch receive priority allocation and early access to the XSCACE SigmaStudio preset library for pre-installation preparation and client demonstration. Register at support@xscace.com or through your regional XSCACE distributor.
